This is a very ok program that lacks so many features any book you buy as a new release cannot even be read on it. Last I heard HarperCollins employs ONE programmer to develop and maintain both the Mac and the iOS programs so it is little surprise we have been waiting over a year for the promised 6.0 on the mac. A major publisher like HC should be willing to invest in at least one more programer so we can have decent support. Good update and I appreciate being able to now make use of resources not previously available on Mac OSX (like the NIV Word Study Bible). However, it would be much better if it looked and functioned more like the version for iPhone which (for example) allows users to toggle between themes for day and nighttime reading.

Program has a nice UI for reading the Bible and works well with the iOS app. Support responded when I contacted about a couple issues with the major upgrade. The issues were fixed in the latest update.

This is a good app with a wide variety of resources to help study the Scriptures. I have been using it almost from the time it was made available. The one area where it has been weak has been when it issues updates. Frequently there are glitches with the major updates, one example being note editing not working properly. It would be nice for these things to be thoroughly tested before being introduced. Or when a problem does occur for a fix to be forthcoming fairly soon after it is known.

I use this app daily. Have it on my laptop and my phone. Totally recommend it to anyone interested in reading the Bible. I like to read several Bible translations to get a better understanding of what was written. This app is superb for doing this.

There is always a “But”. I use a Macbook Pro with OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6. Ever since the last upgrade of Bible Study it crashes continuously and seemingly without cause. When I opened it today (July 8, 2016) it crashed almost immediately. I use it for the convenience of copying scripture into Key Note and Power Point presentations and into other writings I am creating. It mysteriously fails again and again without cause and without warning and forces me to reload the application. Up until now it has been a good friend to my study. Now it is becoming a detriment.

The only reason I didn’t rate this app at 5 stars is that I prefer some things the way they were before this last upgrade. That being said I still really like the app as it works very well for me. This is a gerat app, overall. I use this app practically every day for reading, Bible Study and sermon prep. Lots of Bible versions available as well as commentaries and other helpful and interesting books, many free! and regulay sales on others.

I love the OliveTree Bible for reading and for making personal notes. However, it could use some serious improvement - e.g. there is a problem with the font setting. That along with some other bugs came with the last updated version. It could use a better verse copy feature one that would allow you to type in whatever verse(s) you want to copy. It would be nice to be able to indent your personal notes. I have been patiently waiting for the split screen option for the iPad. Hopefully that will come soon. I would seriously suggest to get perfected and then leave it alone. Don’t send out updates unless they have been thoroughly proven to work. It’s a real blessing when it works smoothly. The ESV+Strongs is a good solid app. The Strongs feature function works well, however the Highlight and Notes features don’t always function as the Menu to select’Highlight, Note, Copy etc doesn’t show. Also, synchronizing between my iMac and iPad is inconsistent. In spite of these ‘bugs’ this is still my chosen app for Bible reading and study.

This is a pretty good application. The free ware portion makes it easy to look up references and I use it frequently for wriing as I can cut and paste the passages to my word document. Unfortunately it doesn’t bring along the passage location info. The supplimental books are good too but the integreation is not very smooth. You have to search for things more then I’d like. I would like to click on a passage and have all options made immediately available. Lastly, the program crashes now and again. It seems to get confused then it stops responding. I can force quit the progam and re-start it but it could be more stable. All in all, for a free program it’s pretty handy.

The OliveTree Bible Study program is my only go to program when studying biblical scripture. It is very easy to use as well as to navigate. It is available on Mac OS X, Windows, iOS, and perhaps other platforms as well. The only thing I would like, though certainly not expected, is to see it migrate over to Ubuntu and openSUSE as well. I do not like the directions Apple and Microsoft are going with their newer operating systems, and there is a small handfull of applications that are not available for linux; and thus preventing me from installing linux on all of my computers. Bible Study is one of those said programs. That being said, this program is one of my favirates and I would highly recomend it to anyone; from the casual bible reader, to the full blown individuals who invest much in their study of scripture. It is the best program for biblical study that I have seen to date. Great work guys. PS - I perhaps should also make it known that I have been using this program for years.

I use this app as my main bible & find it very easy to use. Have it on my iPad, iPhone as well as my computer.

Use it daily for my devotional time and every Sunday to keep track of my sermon notes. An easy way to share a Bible verse with a friend or family. Very useful for quickly looking up a passage or a topic and the resource guide allows an in depth understanding of a verse or a chapter or book. Used it for Sunday School preparation. Love the free and on sale resources. I would highly recommend it!

Version 6.0.7 solved a problem I had previously and it’s a lot smoother. This is the only bible app I use on my Mac. My only complaint is that the search (cmd+F) resets and goes back to Genesis (on your next search via cmd+G) regardless of your current location in the Bible, when it should advance and move forward from your current location. I hope that this get fixed in future versions.

this a pp was working fine until this crash. please fix asap.

1) I appreciate the ability to track my Bible reading using different plans. 2) I like being able to add notes in a variety of ways. 3) I have only used the free features, but have not found any problems.
